disconnection issues
You local connection may not have anything to do with disconnects. It could be the Live server process or any of the hops between that and your client computer, even down to other software on your system causing interference.

I know a month or so ago the site was experiencing higher than normal loads causing some software/hardware limits to be reached, that also caused disconnects (based on staff postings) but I haven't seen any updates on that issue to see if it is still happening.
