PGN is perfect for me, what's the alternative you would like?

Fantasto

Just to downloads the moves in conventional notation and store them away "for a rainy day"!

But PGN is conventional notation. They're just text files with the games in normal notation, standardized so that programs can also read them.

I'll be very grateful for further help on this, as PGN files are something of a mystery to me.When I save and then open them I get a game board and the various play options, but I'm unclear as to how to just get the moves themselves, "in hard copy".

Open them in Notepad, or in Word or something like that.

Thanks a lot: I wasn't aware one could do this, but hey presto, it works!
