Haters.

Just for perspective, and most basic counterpoint, do you know the last time I even spoke about Holland (that wasn't to do with football or weed?). No. Neither do I. You are irrelevant.

Just being honest, we don't talk about you - yet we are on your lips. And I find that you and other countrymen of yours in the thread would want to change your flag even more sad. Surely you have some sort of pride?

Think (hope) you lads might be on the wind-up, but nonetheless. Come off of it.

The EU is the latest form of German expansionism, a silent war they hope to win using bureaucracy instead of tanks. Add the laughable Macron to the mix and you get one dangerous joke.

It is quite obviously authoritarian in nature.

I believe even the dutch voted against EU ratification in 2005 and was ignored. Ireland, France.

Simply Britain has balls enough to challenge it proper.

""""

A consultative referendum on the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe was held in the Netherlands on 1 June 2005 to decide whether the government should ratify the proposed Constitution of the European Union. The result was a "No"-vote.

The vote was the first national referendum for over two hundred years

"""

Sounds about right. Complete joke.

Hi folks, could it be made possible to choose the EU as your ''country''? So that it shows the stars of unity as flag?

We were neutral.. so we didn't ask for help in 1940

If my memory serves me correct the only neutral European country in WWII was Switzerland, who are not part of the EU.

You did have a Dutch flag up until recently. If you think the Netherlands were neutral you went to a very poor school.

Whether help was asked for or not, Britain was one of the countries that helped to eventually liberate the Netherlands from German occupation:

In '40 we were neutral until attacked. Then we didn't have time to ask for help. Your statement is incorrect.

That's true. It was a pretty horrible situation to be in. I apologise for my countryman's comments but we've had a rough time from the EU, not of our making and we have no cause to love them. But I do apologise.
