Fake Looking Login Captcha Screen

Hello everyone.

While trying to log in to the site, I was redirected to a very fake looking page. I think the address was the same as the main website but with logincheck.com at the end. It was asking me to type in a captcha but it looked so fake I didn't do it. I logged in using a different connection and was ok and did not see this screen. Would anybody here be able to confirm if this was a genuine or fake page ? Many thanks in advance for your help.

I'm pretty sure it is real, but just failed to load fully. A refresh without doing anything else should log you fully in.

I experienced the same issue last night. Finally this morning I decided to clear my browsing history and the issue was cleared up.

Thanks for the info everyone. It would have been nice if staff could have shed some light on this definitively.

It is part of the site's CDN provider for sure.

Same happened to me a couple times - looks very questionable

  Martin....what does that stand for...CDN.?

Content Delivery Network. It spreads out the server from a single location to a larger network in many locations so you get data quicker, don't get bottlenecks, and so that a a failure somewhere doesn't take down the service for everyone completely.

Yeah I've been getting this as well. The page just looks different because there's no indicator you're on chess.com or anything besides the URL. I'm sure it's fine, but I'm surprised no one from chess.com has commented or posted anything about it yet
