fast increase of elo score

Hi guys, ever since chess.com decided to categorize 10 min games as rapid instead of blitz my rating has skyrocketed for some reason from roughly 1200 to 1400 over the course of little less then a month. This is as far as my experience goes unprecedented and to be honest I can’t help but look at this recent increase of score with a little skepticism. At first I thought that I was just getting lucky and soon enough would be kicked back to the 1200’s but it has been a solid two weeks since I have reached the 1400 and I have been playing consistently without leaving the 1400-1490 range. My question is wether this is actually do to an increase of chess ability or due to the recent changes that have been made on chess.com.

thanks for giving my comment the time of day

It's likely your rating deviation (RD) value for rapid was high, so you had large rating swings while you played games in the pool.

Your RD is lower now and you're likely to stay in that range or close to it. Rating is just a measurement of past performance. As long as you're getting challenging games, there's nothing to worry about.

The same has happened to me, the rapid rating growth from 1300 to 1500.   I did not have large rating swings (maybe some few at the beginning right after 10|0 was moved to rapid but they did not influence the average rating much, I lost probably the same number of games like I won) . The growth has happened in the last 2 weeks and I cannot explain it
