Underneath the pieces page during the game there is a box with FEN written at the side.  What is this supposed to do?  During my games the box is just full of random characters.  Is it supposed to do something?  My computer has a Japanese operating system so I'm wondering if its not letting something happen.

Hey thanks for that.  Its pretty interesting, not sure I understand it though!  I'll look at it during my games and see if it makes sense.
