Flag of Regions

Hello, I have seen a few games where a player has a flag of Catalonia but for the moment is not a Country (it is a Region of Spain). So is there a way to editing the flags by yourself? Because if not I would like to put a flag of my Region/Province/Town Madrid (but then you also would have to add all the 17 Regions of Spain...or 52 Provinces... and maybe the same for other countries).

I don't remember the name of the forum, but a long time ago, the same subject came up, and a lot of answers were given, both pros and cons ! Perhaps you could find that forum first now, if necessary with help of our readers.

I remember e.g. Catalonia, Galicia and Grenada ; but also United Kingdom, England, Scotland, Wales, Man, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey ; and Greenland/Denmark.

It is a pity "International" exists, you can not see where they live !

The Netherlands anyhow is  clear now, originally part of the Dutchmen gave Holland as their home country, now we are one.

Clearness is important, to know where your opponent lives, also because of day- and night-times during playing a game, but feelings about your country are important as well.

The case of England and Scotland  is different from the case of Spain and Catalonia ; let's keep politics out of the chess world, you live in Madrid and that is Spain, for sure !

Ok, but the point is that I also want to be able to put the flag of my Region, or the vasque peolple theirs and so on, if not it is discriminatory.

                Not to piss anybody off but; because this is a global site, I think you need a flag that is recognized by the UN.  I could be wrong.

         To Frito Lay;  How does your answer help the OP??  I'm SURE many 3rd grade graduates are throughorly familliar with international flags, not recognized by the UN. 

           With my apologies to all 3rd graders; I didn't know you had a CHOICE of which flag you could have. I thought it was assigned based apond the location of your IP address, when you sign up for an account. So if Eric is recognizing more flags than the UN, then members have more choices. More power to ya. Maybe Eric should go run the UN, and let me run this site.

           I think were talking about 2 different things. The OP wants to know if there's a flag besides Spain that she/he can fly. If there is, I see no reason why she can't. The flip side would be someone who say, lives in Chicago, but has German ancestry. Does he have a choice??  I don't know. America is a melting pot.
