there are literally 100s of reasons why and how a game could be abandoned. chess.com has worked dilligently over the years to improve a really inherently flawed system -- live chess. i have seen vast improvements to the live chess time abuse in the time i've been here, and i've been here for a while. it's easy to sit in your north korean castle and complain and belly-ache. those who care or know, are fairly satisfied with the work chess.com has done to keep this problem at bay.
So. Lucky. And all the groups Empty was kicked from are unlucky.
Megalomania almost as bad as disconnections.

he has been in and out of a lot of groups. maybe he's the victim and they were all wrong. i know i miss having him around the RSS.
Which is why I play multiple games simultaneously. That way, when I'm pwning an opponent it doesn't matter if they let the clock run out, I'm too busy pwning another opponent to care (or sometimes being pwned myself), h e ehehe :)

i was just penalized for "aborting games." The problem i have been having is that every time i log in (with facebook), they reboot the log in page but put me in for a game at the same time. I dont know how to fix this problem. Any insight would be greatly appreciated- thanks

check your settings. is there something specific in your settings that sets you up right away? also, ditch facebook. log in through chess.com.
i didnt think to check my settings... but i will try going direct through the web site and see if that helps. this problem only started in the last three days

Why would anyone even want to lose a game due to game abandonment? :|
It's not always deliberate. For some the internet is very unreliable particularly portable devices being used on public-transport.

it's pretty rad that jempty's only contribution to this thread was his complaint that nobody was contributing to the thread and his threat to tattle.
I've lost games where I just had to go to the bathroom. I rushed back to the game to see I may have violated the fair play policy.
Train goes through a tunnel. That's it game-over.
