Not sure how chess.com took the liberty to say I resigned while I was just attending an important phone call for 10-15 seconds. I still feel it could have just waited for another 30seconds before ending game in favor of my opponent. I still feel if a person gets disconnected it's not like he resigned, you can say forfeited! or disconnected and assign the points to opponent but do not say resigned, unless the player himself hits the resign button.

Were you on the app? I think if you leave the game screen the game resigns automatically, though I'm not 100% positive.

I am sorry that happened  Its frustrating.

If you give me the game id I can take a look, but likely it was due to exiting the app which does cause your game to resign.

@jdcannon, the suggestion of marking the results as a forfeit in the PGN does sound like it would be useful. It would clarify that something like that was the cause rather than a true resign or accidental click on resign.

I agree. play is mobile these days and losing points for no reason is really frustrating. The opponent can get points but the victim shouldn't be punished just cause app forfeits your games without permission

Fair point.
