I’m currently working on a big project called the Personal Project, which I need to complete in order to pass Grade 10 because my school follows the MYP curriculum. For this project, I plan to create a chess website filled with YouTube videos of me teaching my target audience—beginners to intermediate players—how to reach 1000 Elo and break through the 1200 Elo barrier. As a 1600-rated player with 2.5 years of experience, I know how to achieve these milestones, but I’m not yet sure how to teach others effectively. I reached 1000 Elo about two years ago, so I want to understand what players below 1000 struggle with most, and what challenges usually stop them from passing 1200.
My website will be free to use, and I hope it will be helpful for players aiming to improve their chess skills.
