I faced a similar problem a few years back. My wife had a pager (but not a mobile phone) and you could send it a 10-digit supposed phone number - quite different from the number you were actually phoning from.

I needed to communicate (on a regular basis) : which railway station I was to be collected from; the arrival time of the train; and whether I wanted fish&chips (and if so, the precise menu: e.g. cod, scampi, mushy peas, large or small portion of chips, etc.)

Isn't there a rule [in snooker], that you must play your best shot?

blackfirestorm

i agree with artfizz's tactic, just let your opponent checkmate you, make it easier for him

hope you get your laptop fixed!

Defacto

I wanted to say something funny about your misfortune but cant remember anything....so...at least you dont have a MAC

Set yourself the goal of allowing checkmate in as few moves as possible. In chess problems, this is known as a "helpmate", and is thought to be a valuable learning tool. Presumably because it helps teach you to avoid checkmate in normal play. As a bonus, it would help satisfy any martyristic tendancies you may have.  LOL

Well i've message the guy explaining that i'm not able to resign and explained i'm giving up because I want it over asap

Plan B !!

blackfirestorm
There is no plan b till plan a is exhausted ;-)
artfizz

Plan C: Ask your opponent for advice, then when he comments on a game in progress, report him; - he'll get banned and you'll win the game. Wink

TheGrobe

Isn't soliciting advice also prohibited though?

Have you tried going to the library and using one of their computers to resign this game?

blackfirestorm
Lol but without my ability to copy and paste how can I report him?

Try to visit a public place with computers connected to the internet. Maybe you can use on of the computers at school of the kids, the library, the townhall, or go to drink coffee with a good friend that has a computer around that you can use for 10 min. or so.

Oh my, I can't imagine life without a computer anymore... I might be addicted, LOL

Hi Donna. I am thinking of getting a new "smart" phone so I can access my chess away from home. What make and model of phone do you use?

Thank you

blackfirestorm
