Able to hide "My Online Games" from others?

You are correct. People that don't have that link simply haven't "completed" any games yet. Everyone that plays chess on chess.com will have that link showup eventually though. We don't currently allow private games or private stats. Something we may build in the future as we get more high profile players on here that don't want their games (experimental openings) exposed.

But a player could delete all his finished games and others cannot see what he played, who he played, what the result was, etc.  I wish there wasn't a feature to delete the games.  They should be public and available for others to study.

I agree, game archive shouldn't be deletable.

I also agree. Being as this site is not sanctioned by any organization it is helpful for the end users to understand each person's ranking. What has a player to hide by deleting games other than embarassement?

1.  If they have played a lot, particularly against the same opponent(s) often, with a generic title to their game that is a lot of data for them to sift through.  They may just want to keep around games that were particularly important to them for some reason. (it might be nice if we could change the title of saved games to something meaningful to us, or add a comment that pops up on mouse over, or search our games by opening, etc.)

2.  They may not want opponents to be able to study their games on this site and use that knowledge against them (opening choices, etc.)

3.  I personally would like the ability to hide my online status from other users.  Maybe I am currently lurking and don't feel like talking, or perhaps I just left the computer on, and a browser tab open to this site (as I often do) and I don't want to mislead my opponents who are eagerly anticipating me making my move.

4.  While I'm wishing for things, I also would like the ability to increase the size of the analysis board and pieces. :-p

bill - a person can delete games from their own personal library, but the games still exist and are accessible in the game archive. you can then search by members :) see here:

I think that ability to delete or hide own game should be only in brilliant accounts (but brilliant users also can see hided games) :)
