Rules of Correspondence Chess

Is Stockfish giving you these moves dynamically? By this, I mean you get to the move, and it's engine tells you the move? If so, this is not legal.
However, if Stockfish is using suggested moves based on a collection of games, then this would be legal.

No wonder CC isnt taken seriously...
Actually, you are mistaken. It is not taken seriously by those who do not know otherwise.
The fact is, many many masters played it and say it is a solid way to build your chess skills.

In general terms, you are allowed to use STATIC resources during a correspondance game... resources that do not change during the game. You cannot use any DYNAMMIC resource... one that changes its state after the first move has been made.
So if you use your chess engine for any purpose AFTER the game has started, it's illegal.
If you just consult a pre-prepared table of opening lines, that's OK, because the table does not change in any way after the game starts.

I used to belong to the cheating forum and I remember a similar question coming up about engine preparation. The majority opinion was that since lots of books now contain engine prep and that's OK to use, that if you printed out your engine prep it was legal. If you left it on the computer, even though you weren't firing up the engine, it was illegal. We're splitting hairs here, but apparently that's what has to be done. So I think a hand written table is just fine. I'm wrong a lot though .
You can reference articles and other games? Time to stomp some people in CC
