Does anyone really believe anyone who claims to be the strongest player on the planet or that he can beat engines - and that he doesn't even have a title?
hey, do moderators answer our questions here?
Ok. This thread has become something. And I just wanted to ask a simple, (kind of cheeky) question. Oh yay. By the way, thanks MGleason for taking the time to talk to some of the people here!
Staff is under no obligation to explain why a thread was locked or deleted. You've been here long enough to understand the T.O.S. Maybe you need to READ it a few more times. When they do chime in to explain an administrative action.....its a courtesy.
When i was an unfit moderator it was during a time in my life where i was just angry, bitter, and unhappy. Which is where Postafi is now. This is why i cut him some slack, as i can relate to where he is at. NO ONE wants to be around people that are constantly complaining, whining, and being depressing. But i also think its important to try and be understanding of ones situation. While i don't know Postafi, or his circumstances, i can certainly relate to why he acts the way he does, So...I leave him alone. Like all things, he will run his course, and hopefully get better.

Yes, moderators do answer our questions. Even if somewhat belated and untrue.
The new era looks pretty much like the old one to me.
You could write fortune cookies for the depressed, and mentally ill.

Make sure they have a long, and dependable history with you.
Do they give 100% each and every day?
Do they take on more responsibility?
Are they the type that goes above and beyond?

advance a pawn to the 8th rank - the opposite end of the board.

A ghost!
In terms of people trying to influence elections, chess.com simply isn't big enough to be a target, and the restriction on political discussion in the main forums is sufficient. If some troll wants to stir up a hornets nest in OD, that's for OD admins to deal with if they consider it out of line. But a Russian troll in OD would probably wouldn't be the craziest guy in there.
In terms of people selling things, if it's chess-related, not off-topic, not a competitor, and not excessively spammed, a little bit of advertising is permitted. We also don't ban bad advice.
Free speech applies to kooks and wackos too. We've had multiple people make ridiculous over-the-top claims over the years. If someone wants to make themselves look silly, let them.
