Google doesn't own Firefox...
High CPU usage
upgrade your RAM/get a new computer if switching browsers doesnt work
If u have a lot of tabs open then close some of em, tabs take up ram, more tabs = more ram usage
Same problem here. CPU around 60%, and the browser window that is hosting Chess.com uses 2GB of memory. Playing Bullet is impossible.
2 gb is not a lot... only matters if you have many tabs open/ other apps running in the background
so ye think google analytical only run on google own browser??? best joke today
Sadly, that's probably true.
Sadly, ye jumped into one yer not familiar with... Fortunately, this is the second best joke today
Ya had me until you said this, nice try.
We already agree with all the usage of information if we play here in this site
By the way, pusswood, I`m not from entertainment background but I really enjoy finding laughter here read post from yer kind, beside playin chess (online) ofcourse, my favourite activity.
It's horrendous for me, and I've gotten so tired of it that it's become a deal breaker. I'm sorry to say, I'm moving to [another site-- VP].
SOLUTION: This worked for me at least. I have a diamond subscription so it isn't ads. There is an option in the setting to change the animations of the pieces. When I had the animations set to natural, it is on medium by default, I was getting 70% CPU usage. As soon as I changed it dropped to 2%
I was so close to giving up as I love bullet chess, but it was unplayable due to the lag of both my input and output.
Hope this helps ![]()

Changing this setting is indeed improving things for me! Thanks for sharing 👍

In my case this not solve the 100% cpu usage. As I know when I use firefox cpu gonna high usage, when I use chrome memory gonna high usage. chess.com need much better product manager, especially in technican of user experience.

Well I replied too quickly, it's actually still the same. What's weird is that my CPU don't even go 100% but my fans keeps running full speed when I'm on chess.com with Firefox.
I'd love to have some feedback on this.
As soon as I play a game, fans quickly get to high speed, it's extremely annoying (especially to "only" show a chess board, we're not talking 3D or crazy things here). I don't understand why, since none of my CPUs go to 100%
When I don't move the pieces, it slowly goes back to normal. However, opening "about: performance" page still shows the chess.com tab with a very high energy impact, around 21 (much more than other "heavy JS apps" such as Asana or Google Docs or even l*chess that all are around 1 something).
maybe im late to topic, but want to ask:
even if i dont play a game, only reading forum, my macbook fans go wild and mac get superhot. How this should be related to high CPU? I understand if there is a game but there isnt.

this indeed was the solution! i have a ryzen 7 3800x so the 70% cpu usage was kinda ridiculous. i was playing around with the animations to see what i like (headphones on, dont really hear what happens outside) and at some point had to pee. when i came back from the bathroom i realized that my cpu fan is having a party (it never does, i barely hear my pc when actually gaming) so i was like wtf?! i then suspected that it could be the animations but i didnt end up trying and immediately googled because i was sure other ppl had same issue. turns out u had it and solved it hahah. its the "natural" setting that absolutely blows up ur cpu. sorry for the story, felt like sharing! :'D
latest to this but i just unsubscribed, im ad free and premium membership there is something else wrong
Chess that need 15Ghz for moving a piece on a screen ,, plah.
Is this any better https://lichess.org/?
Seeing the same with chess.com on Firefox - with a paying account, so adverts are not to blame.
So, what would it be? what made ye think itiz not for the google analytical processes
He's on Firefox, not Chrome...
Yeah, so? Give yer opinion about the cause of this, N what make google chrome different from another browser
