Resolved: Hotmail with Chess.com

Has anyone set up hotmail to receive their chess.com emails? I've tried, but have not had success. If anyone has experience with this (or maybe even other similar things), help would be appreciated!

Here's the problem:
I login to Window's Live, go to Hotmail options, and then Sending/receiving email from other accounts. Here it shows that I can send emails (which I can), but not receive them. I've tried to add my @chess.com email to the recieve section, but I get one of two errors:

1) I type in my info and hit 'Next'. It then says: "Setting up your account.... This may take a few minutes." After which I get this error message: "We can't connect to Hotmail right now. Please make sure that you're connected to the Internet and try again" (I do indeed have valid internet connection).

2) I click "Advanced options", and fill out the email and password, my pop3 user name I just put my name, incoming mail server I put mail.chess.com, Port 995 (110 is the other option), and I uncheck the box for SSL. It then tries to set up the account but I get the error:

"There's a problem connecting to the POP mail server. Make sure that the server name and port you entered are correct. The best way to do this is to check with your other email provider. You're looking for the "incoming mail server", which is probably listed under something like "POP access settings". Learn more"

Thanks for reading this! If you have any insight as to what I'm doing wrong, I'd love to hear it.

Port 995 is for SSL. Use port 110.

I spoke too soon. It hit me as I was asking the question that I didn't try port 110. I thought I saw somewhere that the chess.com mail was port 995. Whatever the case, this 110 port worked for me, and now my hotmail works with chess.com.

So if anyone shared my problem, try port 110! Smile

You can also try using port 995 with SSL.
