How does puzzle battle work?

I played my first games of puzzle battle today and each time I outscored my opponent (without getting 3 wrong) and after the game ended it said I had lost. Is the game not working correctly or have I misunderstood the game?

Only way to win is to score higher even if you get 3 wrong that or you misinterpreted a draw for a loss, i believe anyways. Maybe it was a connection issue? Anyways thats how the game goes.
