I don’t think the iPhone app allows you to claim a timed out win for daily chess.
You could view the game with the phone’s mobile browser. Then you can claim the win without toggling the setting.

hey it asked for my credit card number and the expiry date. show proof it is not a scam
I won a phone so does that mean anything apart from a scam

I have auto time out turned off. But for some games I would like to claim a win on time. I can't see how to do that with mobile apps, either in the Android app, or the IOS app (iPad).
(I don't want to turn the auto claim option on in settings, because that would affect games where I don't yet want to claim the win.)
