How to leave legends club or disable notifications for it

Sort:

I was auto enrolled in this club and now I get notifications constantly that I can't disable. Going into the club page gives me an error message. In settings I've unchecked all notifications.

Same here. Never applied and now i got a bunch of unwanted and annoying notifications

Joining the club is automatic when entering Legends League.

If you disabled alerts it may take a little time for any queued alerts to clear out.

I don't care why i get in. I just want to know how i leave this thing in which i've never wanted to be.

And i didn't apply for Legends League to begin with. I wasn't in the club yesterday and i was already in today when i connected myself.

I think if you disable alerts, you maybe won’t be bothered by it (though I’m not sure)… you can pretend as though it doesn’t exist (once your alerts are disabled).

Alerts are already disabled. And besides, if they weren't why should i be the one to disable my alerts because i was forced in a club i never wanted to be in?

But since i'm in it for some reason, the best option is to quit it. So that's what i want to do. I was fine until today ; i want to return to that state.

If you really wanna leave (idk why you would, since disabling alerts gets rid of all the issues), you can go to “My Settings” (in the list of things in the top right of the club page) and press the red button that says “Leave Club”. That should work, as it works for other clubs.

I do not believe you understand what's going on. None of these options work, there's no "leave club" option. People should not be forced into a club without their consent.

Why do we want to leave? Because of the 300+ notifications we keep receiving from the notes section. It seems like a glitch that the site needs to address.

Same here, its becoming a nightmare, constantly getting notifications if you even try now all i get is the 500 error...

You can checkout any time you want, but you can never leave. cry https://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/chess-com-legends-club-notes-section-is-being-spammed

I know what’s going on; comment #3 seems to answer this.

(But ok, I didn’t know about the not being able to leave, thanks for letting me know… I thought it was something like the “Club Admins” club which also auto-enrolls people.)

Except i couldn't get to the setting of that club since there was a page error.

By miracle, since then, i managed get out the time it didn't send me to the 404 page... But even thouht i'm not in the club anymore, i'm still getting the notifications.

Sometimes, the site does work on the servers on the weekends......maybe they started a little early. Whenever they work on the servers, everything gets a little glitchy, wacky.

i left the club and turned off all notifications and still get 10-20 notifications from legends club every hour - it is insane

You'll likely receive any queued notifications but once they get to the point you left they should stop

Jituyadav

Same here, absolutely fed up with the legends club notifications. Did everything including leaving the club (that I did not join) and notifications switched off, but nothing matters.

This is just pathetic and so frustrating when you get over 100 notifications a day.

How long do we have to wait? Because it's still coming, 24 hours later. That's a pretty huge queue if you ask me.

RonaldJosephCote

"How long do we have to wait"? This all started when Trump became President.shock

I already updated notification settings. The Chess.com Legend's Club is flooding me with spam (large volumes of annoying 'notes'). I do not want to receive anymore notifications from them. How do we make them stop?

Chess147

I started getting notifications for the Chess.com Legend's Club yesterday and despite disabling all notifications in the club settings I continued to receive the unwanted notifications. Eventually I left the club but continue to receive notifications every time a note is added to the club page. I was also getting server errors yesterday so I suspect this issue is temporary and caused by site maintenance and it's not a big deal but the lack of updates from staff about it despite the widespread frustration and that I continue to receive notifications for a club I am not a member of makes the IT team look inept. These kinds of faults should be resolved in a matter of hours not days.
