How to run GitHub-based chess engines

I visited the CCRL rating list and I clicked on the profile of some engines. Sometimes I was redirected to a GitHub page and I was told to "run" the engine. I have cloned the engine by using my terminal, but I cannot run the Python file. Does anyone know how to run GitHub-based chess engines that do not include an .exe file? (I think Lucas Chess only accepts .exe engines.)
