I am getting continual alerts from the thread even though it seems to have been deleted. I was getting alerts from the thread before it was deleted even though I unfollowed it numerous times and no new posts were occurring.
Generally speaking threads aren't deleted. Where was it located?

The OP is muted so it shouldn't be generating any new alerts. The alert may have been from last week when there was a bug.
Have you tried using Clear Alerts in the past 12 hours? My bugged alerts all cleared the last time I did that.

Although alerts bugs seem to be the most persistent kind of bugs over the years.

There have been some bugs where some muted accounts are still showing content in the apps. It doesn't happen on all muted accounts, or even most as far as I'm aware, but in general, what I mentioned is correct.

Ah, that's probably due to the bug from last week. Have you tried Clear Alerts? All my stuck notifications from that have cleared.
