You should be able to change it in the Chess.com App, as far as I'm aware.
I thought everyone could access theirs. After reading this, I went to check mine and it also didn’t work. It said that I ‘did not have permission to change it’, although I used to be able to.

I'm using app on PC, maybe that's why?
When the app is mentioned we're talking about the iOS and Android mobile applications.

So far, what I've found is everyone except for @JennicaTalia11 has their flag from America, and @JennicaTalia11 is set to Russia. Hmmmmmmmm
it's happening to me as well, and my flag is the cuban flag.

I fixed this by go to profile, go to stats. Here, click in status then change normally. Hope this help.
