I can't draw upward arrows only in certain squares

Hi,

When I am playing or solving puzzles I like to draw some arrows just to help thinking how things would go. I find that there are certain arrows that I cannot draw and I don't understand why.  Could you help?

How about a screenshot?

here you are. As you can see I can draw a bunch of arrows (random). However I cannot draw vertical arrows from the 3rd to the 2nd rank (I made an example in red). Here you are. As I can see, I can draw many lines, but those red vertical arrows from the 3rd to 2nd rank I cannot. It may be relevant that I am using the arcade animation type.

I don't know but maybe someone else will.

It says you have to hit the Ctl key to draw a red arrow.

i think what he means is that he cant draw arrows going up for the 2nd rank and only for the 2nd rank

Yes, that is what I mean. Sorry if I was unclear. Those red arrows were meant just to show what could not be drawn otherwise.

I found that if you don't use the arcade mode it works. Hope this helps

It actually works, thanks man, if I configure to either Arcade or Natural move, the problem will arise.

You're using firefox, and there's a stupid years-old bug in FF's <canvas> implementation.

Try un-maximizing the screen or resizing - the arrow you think hasn't been drawn  will suddenly appear.

FF is a hot pile of garbage, just d/l Chrome.  Problem solved.   (chess.com could work around this by toggling the visibility attribute of the entire canvas on/off on every draw event, but that's stupid and broken too. O_o)

Its amazing this issue still hasn't been fixed. I ran into this problem for the last month or two only to realize it started occurring when I switched to "Arcade Animation". I love this animation but It would be AWESOME if I could still draw on every single square and not have certain ones that simply wont allow me to draw arrows on for no apparent reason.

For more context it appears that the 7th rank seems to have the most issues. I'm on chrome browser and have tried clearing cache/cookies to no avail.

I am using the Edge browser with arcade animations on. I noticed that when I was dragging my browser window, the arrow that was drawn would appear and disappear while dragging.  I just maximize my screen or drag the size of the browser window to the size I like while making sure the arrow is still visible.  Thanks for that info!

This happens in Chrome as well, but only in full screen. And only when the arrow is going UP and ends on the 6th rank, at least for me. It's consistently reproducible. It's been happening for ages and should be addressed.

same thing happens to me on Chrome
