there have been at least three games ive had where ive had infuriating losses not from loosing positions or time running out i was winning and could see checkmate but i have really spotty internet so when it disconnects for maybe 15-30 seconds at a time or even less when i return to my game it says its been abandoned and my ELO goes down when all that would need to happen is just allow me to reconnect to my game to finish it genuinely its so frustrating and im actually considering just going to a different website that doesn't do this i just wanna play chess without getting kicked from my game even though I have MINUTES left

Just read this awful rule "If a player disconnects in a completely lost position (say. -3.5 or worse), the game will be considered abandoned after just 15 seconds, regardless of the time control."

Uhh hello I'm 400 elo, there's no such thing as a completely lost position.

Also what even is stalling. If I have time I should be able to use all of it! I'm thinking about my moves, win or lose, good or bad, I should be able to use all my time to make a move. What is the point of the timer? Stalling isn't a thing. I don't know every single opening like you nerds, I have to think about all the possibilities.

I fully agree with this. If the players agreed to a long time control game, then they play it, without any interference from bots or otherwise. Make chess great again, and delete nonsense rules like abandonment. Imagine you get to a tough position in a rapid game (it may be -3.5 or whatever), then of course you are going to think about it, probably for more than 15 seconds!

Chess.com please fix these silly rules, this isn't chess. Its commercialism of chess.
