If you think that's bad, start posting on the forums.

Alec has a good point

It is unfortunate that you had to have some creep insult you, but in the end, they just revealed what crap they are. You can either go to the bother of reporting them, or just move on.

I just move on.

Tracer2960

I immediately block them, but again, these people do it anyway since they don't fear the consequences - since there are none.

@Alec289 - Yes. This is Internet. But again, it is a closed community site where everyone is logged in - therefore, everyone can be identified and banned.

I was going to tell ugly here to move on himself, but I see it's help and support.

So, you can submit a ticket for abuse and that ought to do the trick.

two things I can't stand: abuse and intolerance of any kind, and naggy talking birds.

Kraynight

That's three things.

U can count higher than me!!!

Why would anybody care that someone writes "fu" on their wall?   They were probably raised in New Jersey where that just means "Hello.  How is your day?"

I don't agree with people who say to move on. Yes, sure I won't lose any sleep on that, but why there shouldn't be consequences for these guys? It is not so difficult, just make the option of reporting easier to find, and truly ban them for a while. Right now, it looks like nobody really cares. I play bullet a lot, and the percentage of people using bad language and violating fair play policy... looks like every fourth one or so. And it keeps getting worse.

Perhaps those at the top have determined that the cost of marshalling the resources necessary to police the idiocy on this site is just too high.

DrSpudnik

Nasty people get a certain edge on line.

Though to be fair, I know a person who mumbles swears, filthy accusations and vague threats in face-to-face blitz games.

Just say: "You really are tough on the Internet. So, tell me how much of an ass-kicker you are."

As a kibitzer or player?

I agree with the OP and Mrs Baginskaite that these insulting comments are very annoying. Unfortunately, chess.com won't regulate anything as this is a 11M members website, so they'd rather keep the jerks and cheaters Wal-Mart style.

To get better playing environment, you can either join a group with respectful people, or try a paid option like ICC.

Even if you get a guy banned for bad language, he will create a new account and start over anyway.

yeah that i definately true for me. I expect it from 1000 players that are probably 10 years old, but seriously 2100's???? I have found in general if people are active on the forums/all different ratings their either really bad trolls or pretty nice (there are exceptions of course)

If he thinks that's bad, he should stay away from the forums.

@herebrocker : I think wanting to play a game of chess without being insulted is a very reasonable request, and doesn't deserve any 'fixing'
