Intentional forfeits in tournament play

Personally I don't understand how these players get away with forfeiting games, or resigning with no moves played to a namesake, then staying to play other games in a tournament.

Well, if this is allowed in chess.com tournaments, it is not fair to the players remaining after the intentional forfeits.

This forfeiting is against the rules. The forfeiters when detected, should be disqualified immediately.

That is the rules of chess and i dont see why chess.com should disagree with this in the name of recreation.

It seems that chess.com does not intend to do anything about it !!!?! Why?? It is not fair to other players Thats sad.

It does look like the double forfeit put you at a severe disadvantage in the finals All you can do is to play the games you have left. How is that going?

Hmm, well I won't say anything.

scurly, if and when players forfeit to you, you didn't mind gaining their points, so why now all of the fuss...

the games playing doesnt make any difference to the rules. I was away for 4 months and didnt really play these games

Well, ok fine .

Chess.com doesnt really want to do anything about this. They want to keep gameplay  not so seriously regulated.
