All 10 minute games for me. 4g iPhone. I note 2 back to back updates within the last week after which the issue began. Seems to happen in spurts. Immediately following a move being played - my clock freezes while opponents clock continues to run making it appear it’s their move but my time is actually running out. I simply close the app and reopen - seems to restart the game- but I have to renter the move that froze the game.

It’s been happening a lot to me today - at least 5 times. I’ve been playing 30 min games. I use an iPhone 11 both on wifi and on mobile data. switching between the two didn’t help.
In my most recent game (just now), pressing the back button (to view my last move) and playing the move again seemed to fix it.

Yep. The app suddenly decides to freeze in limbo... the time control is not part of the issue. I think it’s more of a server issue. The lead developer is “working on it” and will get back tomorrow. I don’t have any high hopes of it being “fixed” anytime soon as on the surface the issue appears quite elusive.

Another consequence of games being forfeited due to this issue -
The games I expect are recorded as being abandoned and hence the bots place app users in the bad sport pairing pool. I hope this gets addressed. Many are reporting that a cancellation of membership is in order if the issue persists. I would also concur as my only option is the iOS app to play games. Browsers are simply to cumbersome and do not provide nearly the same experience.
Im having this problem since a week more or less, very frustrating! I play with an ipad air 2, through wifi.

Happy to hear a fix is on the way - just lost two games this way in 5|5, and have been having this problem in 20-40% of my games over the last week or so on both iPhone and iPad, wifi and LTE

One thing- a lot of players are losing games which likely will be seen as being abandoned by the bots - resulting in players possibly being relegated to the bad sport pairing pool. Can this be looked into and rectified? Thanks

I’m also having problems with a freezing app on an iPad Pro. Found out that I need to remove the app from memory and reopen it. I will then get back into the same game to continue but with lost time. Also lost many games today due to this problem.
