Is Chess.com Rigged to Keep You Stuck??
Bruh, i had stayed swinging from 500-600 for about a year, then i took a break, then boom 800 rapid elo
I was close to 500 in blitz and started losing almost every game. I just lost a game to a 310 rating that had 5 great moves and a rating of 1050. Makes no sense.

Get close to peak =better opponents =more loss=big drop
acredito que não. oque mantém preso e querer subir muita classificação é nessa jornada ficamos presos nos nossos próprios vícios mentais
That's not weird at all.
If you win a lot, you gain rating. Then you start playing higher-rated opponents. So you should start losing more, because your opponents are now stronger.
If you lose a lot, you lose rating. So you start playing lower-rated opponents. So you should start winning again, because your opponents are now weaker.
Logical stuff.
Its not rigged. In the long term you will end up at a level that reflects your ability. Like just about every other activity you can think of.
This does seem to fluctuate which is also perfectly natural I suspect.
Hey guys,
So I was just thinking about something…
What if Chess.com has a secret system that keeps you at the same rating on purpose? Like, every time you win a bunch, it suddenly makes you lose a bunch too. It feels like when you’re doing good, the matches get way harder real fast. Then when you’re losing a lot, you start getting easy matches again. Weird right?
Maybe they do it to keep you on the app longer. Like, if you always feel “close” to getting better, you won’t quit. And if you’re on the app more, you’re more likely to buy stuff like memberships, lessons, and all that.
But like…Chess.com wouldn’t really do that, right?? That would be super sneaky.
Idk just something I noticed. Anyone else feel this too?
