So I started playing last week after not playing chess in a decade, I dumpsterd my rank and then started learning the game via theory and puzzles afterwards. Now that I got the hang of it, when playing i get +8 at 560 which doesn't feel very rewarding.
Not really. Your blitz Glicko RD is 49 so 8 points sounds about right. However your rapid Glicko is over 200 so if you want a high rating, switch to that. You will get over 50 points for a win and should be over 1000 quickly. You'll just have to climb your way back with the blitz though. And after all, it's about the game, not the rating, right?
