Joining Tournaments/online games

Hi, I am a new member to chess.com. I am interested in joining tournaments. But when I click join, it tells me:

"You must have completed at least 5 "Online Chess" games to compete in this tournament."

I have added friends and tried playing online games but I am not sure on how to play it. Do I have to wait each day for a move? Is there unlimited time control?

So basically, I am not sure on how to play online games and subsequently cannot join tournaments. Any help, advice, comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think that you must have COMPLETED 5 turn based online games before you can join a tournament.

Most of them are on a time control (1 move per one day and up to 1 move per 14 days) If you want to enter tournaments soon, play (and COMPLETE) 1 move per day matches. (Make sure you can log in at least once a day to make your moves).

Wow so you cannot play more than 1 move a day? Thats sad..

Another question- Which rating does the game affect? Turn based?

And...another question- Why isnt there a resign button in the game? You are not allowed to resign??

Remember, you can play more than one game at a time, some membere have a few hundred going. Some games can take a few months to complete, but I have often finished games in one sitting. It takes some getting used to, but it works well, you'll see :)

You CAN play more than one move per day, but you don't have to.

The rating affects turn based, yes.

There is a resign button in every game, below the chat box.
