King moved more than one spot

I'm just getting reacquainted with chess and was playing the computer. I moved my knight to capture a pawn that was 5 rows across from the king. I thought the king could only move one square at a time, but it leapt forward and captured my knight. Is the algorithm cheating or is something missing in the help section about how the pieces move?

This is part of the uber-modern theory of chess which emphasizes the strength of the king when properly developed. This is a peculiar new development, I will have to try it at my next OTB tournament.

I think it involves switching your queen and king when your opponent goes into the bathroom and convincing him that that is the way it was. Ivandh is talking about the bongcloud where the king and queen are confused often, because the king goes out while the queen stazs at home,
