Checkmate is either queen Qe8#, which i inputed too late.

My move and I'm white.  My time is at a minute when my last move was made.  At this time, I lag, apparently i didnt know he moved.  What is stupid is that I had one full minute, which apparently chess.com said reestablishing connection, and my clock was running.  I finally stable my connection with one second left on my clock and he moved without me knowing.  So I lose, with next move checkmate which i made, but it was too late.  My question is why the heck was my clock still running if chess.com knew i was lagging out?  I shouldnt have lost that, but I'm not arguing with the rules.  I want a moderator to look at this, because there was no reason why I should have lost because of lag, especially if next move is checkmate.  Stupid mifi internet (portable wifi), which i used in a car.

The reason they do that is so that people can't just disconnect on purpose, to stop themselves from losing a game. Since the server can't tell any difference between an intentional and an unintentional disconnect, they have to assume it's intentional, or else people could abuse the system.

The important thing is that you know you won, right? Do the rating/records really matter that much?

this is correct. your time keeps ticking even if your connection goes bad. we had a lot of people who were intentionally "disconnecting" to gain an advantage, and we can't distinguish who is doing it on purpose and who is unintentionally doing it.

you guys at least know if there is a connection error right?  You could when the connection is lagging get rid of the chess pieces on the board, and then get rid of time.  And it was actually me that lagged out, so I guess it was more my fault.
