Latest version of the chess.com app crashes on my iPad Air 1 that runs iOS 12.5.5

Hi,

Yesterday I noticed that the chess.com app on my iPad did not produce any sound. I decided to uninstall the app, reboot my iPad, install the app again. The installation went ok, but now the app crashes: it starts and immediately 'disappears'. It seems that yesterday a new release was provided... Does anyone has the same problem? My  iPad is an Air 1 that runs iOS 12.5.5. I reported this to chess.com as a bug.

That ipad was discontinued six years ago.   It doesn't have the current OS.

Uninstalling the app and reinstalling would try to update it to the modern app, which would not work.

You are right, this is an old iPad and it does not run a current iPadOS version. On the other hand the other apps I use are still working fine. It's just a pity the chess.com app no longer works. It was the absolute number one app in terms of my usage :-)

UPDATE: yesterday's update of the chess.com app on the Apple App Store did fix this. So I'm now happily using the app on my old iPad again. Thanks chess.com - I was about to switch over to Lichess :-)
