Live chess tournaments are diveded into various rating sections, however there are also "open" tournaments.
So, yes it's possible that you see 1 tournament and your friend see's another, it may start the same time and it may have the same time limit, but ye may have joined 2 different tournaments based on your current ratings.

is that a thing .let say i have 1400 blitz rating
and my friend have 1856 so in live tournements can my friend see tournements which i dont see ?
