Losing Rated Games due to Server Problems

They have to improve that ... I can’t take the ratings seriously... be nice if they reflected a player’s ability... but it doesn’t...

Are live games disabled atm? I can't start new one, I don't know if this is server side or mine.
Last week I lost a game due to server going down and never got a rating refund I had a winning position and the server went down on my move
The servers just went down when I had forced mate in 3, hopefully it won't mark it as a defeat!

I am in the same boat re: losing on time due to a server crash. Anyone know if chess.com has ever issued rating refunds/record adjustments in these instances?

Why does it matter? How is such a minor inconvenience disgusting?
It matters because it’s irritating to lose points if you’re in winning position but the server craps out on your turn and you lose because it says “game abandoned,” which is what it did to me.

That just happened to me earlier. It said my opponent had disconnected and I would get the game, so I just watched his clock tick down and then suddenly I was informed I had lost on time!! I put in a bug report, got a very quick response, and I think they are going to reinstate the points possibly, but I haven't had a further update yet. Still they must be really busy if they get an outage like that.

You can ask, but as far as I'm aware, there haven't been any issues today with the server.

It would be nice if this site just aborted the game if there was a server outage rather than giving the win to whoever disconnects last because losing rating points to something out of my control is very annoying.
