Master Games Database on Chess.com not showing results?

So I just found the Master games section on chess.com which I think is great! but I started messing around typing in different openings and I tried typing in the Smith -morra gambit which came up in the dropdown list I click it and putting in no other filters just search so it should return all master games ever played in this opening that are in the chess.co database. However, it comes back with no search results match my search criteria, Is there something wrong or what because there are definitely masters that have played this opening and I don't see a reason why the master games in this opening would have just been overlooked and never put in the chess.com database, so what's going on? It seems to work for a lot of other openings I tried out various sicilian openings, the kings gambit and i was getting results going back decades or even over 150 years in some cases but not a single game in the smith morra gambit!? This seems very strange.

I know the smith-Morra is ridiculed but I agree it seems unlikely that there are no games.

So I literally just searched the smith-morra opening from the dropdown no further filters on players or wins or anything just any games in the smith-morra. But I know of titled players like marc esserman that have played it over the board and won games against GM's so I know some titled games have been played in it. I just don't know why they wouldn't be showing up. I've read that guys article and of course I respect the opinion of GM's they have worked hard to gain those coveted letters before their names, but I'm not a fan of the article because of the fact that if any top players in the game suddenly played the smith morra in a high level match and won convincingly all of a sudden more titled players will start looking in the smith-morras direction. So a lot of the points in the article would just be ignored by titled players in that case. But yeah there defintely should be games showing up, I'm just unclear why there aren't any appearing.

Well, there are a fair number of games. I guess it depends on what line you are playing. I see more than a thousand games in this line.

That's the opening explorer, My problem is with another section completely. On the home page on the left hand side hover over learn then click games this section is devoted to master games you can search by opening player etc. and here if you search by smith morra gambit it will appear in the dropdown after "smi" is typed click that and just search no other filters and no results are returned when it should be returning master games in the smith morra gambit.

But if anyone has an explanation for that then let me know because I don't see why the games aren't showing up

Well, there are definitely games in the database that are Smith-Morra Gambit lines; ie. this game between Van Wely, L. and Esserman, M. ( https://www.chess.com/games/view/13188685 ). Not sure what the problem is - I think something similar was happening with other lines. Best work around is to figure out, and search by FEN. This should return the games you want.
