There is no way to make this fair. Keep it as it is, and stop playing the opponent, and play against your opponents moves instead.
MSC157 is absolutly right. Even number seems more logical. Two simultaneous games is also a good idea.
Sometimes I want to practice some openings and I know the previus player uses to play it so chances he plays it again (so I can practice it) are better than player at random.
I also think psicology is an important part in chess and if we take that out of the ecuation and we reduce everything to play the opponents moves we take out part of the fun in chess.
Hello. I have talked to some people in the chess.com community and we all have the same feeling. After we play a good game with an opponent sometimes (independently of the result) we feel like playing him another game and most of the time chess.com members don´t play rematches.
My suggestion is to offer, instead of typical individual games, a match style playing with either 3 or 5 games each (3 will be enough but 5 will be great) with the winner being the one who gets more poins.
Other option is to play with mandatory rematch option which you could play only people with that option on.
I think it would be very easy to implement and chess.com can be the best site to play and learn chess in the world.
Thank you
