Messages don’t work properly on iPhone.

Messages don’t show properly. I’m using iOS 26.2 on iPhone 16. New messages only appear in the main Messages page as the first line of the last message sent to a friend, but that message does not appear in the main chat window for this friend. In that message window I can see some messages that repeat 3 times, one of which is the first message I posted today.
Strangely, I can see a pop up from the game with the message, so it was definitely sent to me but I can’t see it where it should appear: in the messages page.
What’s going on and how can I fix it?
