mobile app chat problem

I've got the android app and ever since the most recent update the button to send chat messages during a game has disappeared.

I can click on the chat icon and read previous chat messages with the other player, but after I type in a new message there is no way to "send" it. There used to be a button that looked like an arrow to the right of the text.

I'm in your boat, I sent a message to mobile@chess.com ...you're not alone!

Seems like every update brings it's own little defects...I wonder what kind of test coverage they have.

What phone are you using? I'm on an S3. I can't believe we're the only 2 people with this problem.

Same problem with a Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.  I also sent a message to mobile@chess.com with my tablet's info and app build number.

Same, galaxy s3. I doubt it's just our phone though

Galaxy S2 and Nexus 7 tablet - same issue. Wish I could roll back to the previous version

I just started a thread without checking others first - I have same problem....I'm using an HTC One X.

Same here, again on the Galaxy S3. Maybe with more posts here they will do something about this.... Please :)

I got an email back from the support team saying that the support person passed the issue on to the mobile app developers.  I'm sure they'll get us a fix as soon as they can.

I got the same reply from them...I also now have problems with some pieces randomly showing in wrong colour/place/some missing, and the screen rotates a few times before calming down! I'm not bothering until they sort it out cos its wrecking my chances lol

Yeah seems like every time I view another game that's open immediately after making a move in a different game, random pieces will be missing from the board and some pieces will be in the wrong spot.

So many bugs in this app and zero response so far in the "support" boards.

Same problem with the chat not working on S3. It worked before last update.

I'm experiencing the same problem on my Galaxy Tab 2. Combined with the missing resign option, it's very annoying. When I'm in a hopelessly lost position I have no option to resign and no possibility to explain that to my opponent. My opponent will think that I'm behaving unsportsmanlike, which is absolutely not my intention.

Which app version are you using?

What do you see in the options list when in a game?

I'm using the latest version, so that must be 2.0.8.

These are my options:

settings, flip, offer a draw, abort and messages.

Thanks, I hope you will be able to fix it! I really like the app on my tablet, except for these issues.

The chat issue is currently being fixed.

I've logged in on my tablet, tapping Options in the game shows the bottom option as being  Resign (Or Abort)

I am still having this issue as well.  I'm using one of the latest Android models with current updates & there is no longer a button available to send a chat message after typing it.
