I thought counting / spamming topics weren't allowed. It's been 10 days. You're obvoiusly terrible at your jobs.

Not every post gets read by moderators. And that topic didn't initially start as a counting topic, so if it had been seen initially, it wouldn't have been moderated.

paper_llama

As long as it's not specifically counting is it ok?

i remember when we would get muted for making fun of useless turds like that.

now, though, the site seems to only care about their own counting. counting members equals counting money.

dare i bring it up? this shows the extremely slow response from staff as the site has grown. on one hand, they like to brag about how many members they have. any semblance of rational moderation has lagged sorely. you are one of the few that responds to these issues. the problem with that is that you make excuses for staff too many times.

paper_llama

I just checked... they started counting at the end of page one.

"Well you see Mr Llama, we couldn't have really known the nature of the topic on account of not every page was counting. Of the 13 thousand total posts (13211 posts to be exact) only 13193 were counting. So only 99.86% (ok, we'll round up) only 99.9% of the posts made over a 10 day period were counting.

So you see, we couldn't possibly have known..."

By the way mr @martin_stahl you're a good guy AFAIK... so don't take it personally.

It's not possible to read every new piece of content posted across the site. Maybe with a bunch of paid staff monitor 24/7 the majority of things could get caught and handled quickly, for the small portion of content that needs moderation, but things would still be missed.

Off Topic has always been lightly moderated and what is and isn't allowed there has changed through the years somewhat.

No, things like that aren't generally allowed. However, in Off Topic it's much more likely to not get seen.

At this point they should ask you to funnel things like this to the mods llama! Imagine if you could concentrate on finding these things and mods on dealing with them wink.png

Thanks for the encouragement happy.png

I believe they already have a group like that (where non-mods post useful links for mods to check out).

A mod was the first one to comment and it wasn't locked? Really?

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-com-community/ban-people-connecting-from-indian-to-chess-com-85085503

Now that it has a lot of downvotes does that give you a clue?

Similar questions come up periodically and aren't in and of themselves against posting guidelines.

I disagree with the rules, but thanks for taking the time to answer.

AlCzervik

said rules are ambiguous for a reason.

So they can be lazy.

So just to clarify...

Talking about trans people is not allowed in the forums according to mods.

-

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/censorship-of-the-trans-discussion

-

But letting underage kids talking about having sex with each other for 1000+ posts, in dozens of topics, is fine

-

Great job guys.

A less mentally disabled mod might have said something like trolling isn't allowed.
