moves not working properly

idk if this is the place to go for this but when i was playing this dude before suddenly my time started running before it looked like my opponent had made a move, and i had to close my app and restart it before seeing that he had in fact made a move but it didn’t show up. The next move i was waiting for like 5 minutes for my opponent to do anything and then he won by abandonment ?

Sounds like you're having connection issues. If you're on the mobile app, try uninstalling and reinstalling the newest version. Also, if your using wifi and cellular data, the device can switch between the connections and can cause connection issues sometimes.
Opponents move not showing up after I made the first move. Tried clearing cache and updating chess.com, but to no avail. Feel like giving up.
Nah doesn’t sound like connection issues to me. I’m having the same problem and I’m using the same internet I always do in the same location.
