One more that came from a friend...

Complete your development and castle before going on adventures, unless you had the chance to grab the center, in that case, do it!

This is something I always try and do, I just feel like my middlegame is worthless:P

If your laptop is pretty good, send it to me first and I'll send you an old one you can smash up.  Win-Win!!

Or...at 800, try making sure your pieces are guarded where possible, and check your opponent can not take a piece for nothing when you make the move you were planning.  Simply doing that should get you up a hundred points or more.

Maybe I'll start some 15|10. No chessclubs around here sadly, not much of anything really, I live in a very small town. And thanks for the added advice Panda, I appreciate it :)

As has been advised, forget about the short time controls and play "online" games of at least one day per move. Or at least play a good proportion of your games this way.

About onlinegames. When I get an answer I looks at it, thinks and does testmoves on the analyzepalett. If I dont like my idea, I close the game, and pick it up later, maybe another day, and sometimes I find some great improvement another day.

Finding improvement and new ideas  is strenghtening . That is almost impossible in blitz, but doable when thiking long.

Hon, becoming a great player is a destination. Think Journey...no not that 80's band....now, go-n-joy. Oh !....and BTW, since ur kind of a OCD Ironmanner ?....do your Tactix Trainer each and every day, okay ? Promise me that luv. It's better than a giant multivitamin that u can barely swallow. Peace & keep cool.....Your Lola

Take your time and go slowly. 20 games in one day is no way to improve. A great site for studying master games is chessgames.com, where you can study all the games one player, study games by opening, etc. Jeremy Silman highly recommends the study of master games as a good road to improvement.

Also, as soon as you lose a game, reset it and spend some time looking it over slowly two or three times. You'll almost certainly find some glaring errors that you missed the first time through. The worst thing you can do is go right to the next game and ignore the one you just played. Even if you won, try flipping the board and replaying the game from your opponent's point of view, looking for where he went wrong.

Good luck.

Thanks guys, I'll definitely start doing online games, The problem ive had with those is that I understand its better to take your time with each move, Its just I see a move, think "oh this is nice, He can do this or this and if so Il do this" I dont really put as much thought into it as I should because Im very bad at formulating a solid Middlegame plan

I was too lazy to read your texts so I just answer to the headline. Please dont smash your laptop because then you wouldnt be able to cheat anymore. The alternative is you send me your best engine and then smash your laptop. Cheaty greetings.

Well... who do we have here?

About that h3 thing.... Ever consider playing the Fishing Pole?

After reviewing some of your games.  Youre openings seem ok, where your having difficulties, is tactics.  Youre missing simple tactics.  Study tactics.

Senior-Lazarus_Long

Don't play so many games. Maybe try 5 tactics problems a day. Play over 1 annotated game a day. I like Nunn's Mamouth Book Of Greatest Chess Games.Just have fun,and you will have a great pastime, for the rest of your life.
