new game w friend keeps aborting after first move

Started a game w a friend with a long timer. Both of us accept and make a move but then it auto aborts and I can’t find anything in the settings as to why. We’re talking outside the app and none of us are doing anything but making moves per usual.

How quickly is that happening? There's a first move timer and a long move timer for moves 2-10, but those should be up to half the base time and shouldn't be an abort.
