Suddenly over the last 48 hrs have found the move notation is showing thus :

19.f3move_list.algebraic.Nd7
20.move_list.algebraic.Ba1move_list.algebraic.Rxb1
21.move_list.algebraic.Qxb1move_list.algebraic.Rb8
22.move_list.algebraic.Qc2move_list.algebraic.Kf8
23.move_list.algebraic.Kf2g6
24.move_list.algebraic.Nxh6move_list.algebraic
Anyone else having this issue?

Is this on the website? Try clearing your cache and doing a hard refresh (F5).

If that doesn't work, send a report to support@chess.com. Be sure to include your screenshot along with info on your setup (device, operating system version, browser version)

We have a couple tickets in about this. Sorry for the trouble.

ChoChikun

OK. Thanks for the reply.

@jdcannon, if this was resolved, I have a regression today (for my first time) in Edge. I cleared cache and restarted.  Not seeing it in iOS app.  Appears to not affect first move of self-analysis variations but I can't get the alignment to reset on each variation.  It happens in the game score.

Microsoft Edge 44.17763.831.0

Microsoft EdgeHTML 18.17763

Same problem here, although I posted it in the wrong place (sorry!). Doesn't happen with Firefox. Also, the pawn moves are displayed correctly. Not sure if this is just a coincidence, but it seemed to start happening after I selected "analysis" from one of the lessons.

jdcannon

Thanks guys! Working on this. Seems is an issue just for Edge

I found a workaround: in settings, change "Piece Notation" to "figurine" and save. (I then pulled up an old game, not sure if this is necessary.) Change back to "text." Problem solved.

Oops, no I'm wrong about that. The figurine notation looks fine, but switching back to text causes the problem to reappear.

Okay, good, because it didn't work for me although I first tried it in a separate tab.  Figurine looks good for the time being though. Good find.

I've just started experiencing this also, would be good to know the cause and resolution.

The cause is apparently a problem with a code change and Edge. Until the site changes the code, using another browser or switching to figurine notation would work around the issue.

TreacleMiner

thanks Martin I’ll give IE a go rather than edge

jdcannon

Rarther than IE, I would really encourage you to download Chrome or Firefox.

TreacleMiner

Thanks for the advice, appreicated

Firefox works well for me for the most part, but I have a funny problem when using it to watch the videos that accompany the lessons. The audio and video are out of sync (way out of sync, unwatchably so). It only seems to be a problem with Windows 10. On a different machine using Firefox with Windows 7 it wasn't a problem. I reported it to Mozilla (Firefox) as a bug, but they apparently couldn't duplicate it.

AlexDeLarg

FWIW, the "figurine" notation has the same problem now. The "coding" is preceded by the figurine symbol. But---as with text--only for the piece moves, not the pawns.

AlexDeLarg

And... on the outside chance this helps, the drills don't have the problem:

AlexDeLarg

Fixed. Thanks!

TreacleMiner

Seems all sorted now

Glad to hear
