that list is maintained by your browser, not by chess.com :) you can select them and hit DELETE to delete them though.

I know, but usually if you use the arrow keys to scroll down the list and hit enter it puts the item you selected into the text entry box.
The chat box in on-line chess has a drop-down list that keeps the last few comments you've entered. I've noticed today that this does not work properly (or, at least, not how I would have expected it to!).
When you start typing a comment it drops down the list and you can use the arrow keys to hilight an item on the list but then hitting enter doesn't select the item as you might expect but just sends what you'd typed.
For example, I've sent a couple of people a chat message "T" today rather than saying "Thanks for an interesting game".
If you select from the list using the mouse it seems to work properly.
