I think, you might have participated a match in a tournament based on a particular opening theme, where it is possible that you are provided with the moves already done according to the standard positions in that theme!
Opening moves done for me without my knowledge???
Somebody can challenge you with a known opening already selected. If this is the case, when you go to the challenge, the board should appear with the opening position played out. If you don't want to play this opening, just decline the challenge.
I'm pretty sure the board was set without the moves done an when I hit the accept button the pieces changed to the board I am now faced with! Now that I have accepted the challenge what I would like to know is how to get out of the challenge without loss of points or a loss credited to my name or am i faced with having to play this game out. Thanks for the input guys.
I wish I knew more about this scenario. I could benefit from specialized opening sequences which focused on my inexperience.
Usually if you resign within the first few moves you will see a message stating that the game was too short to be counted towards ratings. I'm not certain this applies to tournaments though.
however... if its a themed opening... the opening moves count so they could take you over the min number of moves required
A couple of times i have accepted a game against someone and when i pressed the accept button an opening board was put in front of me with several moves already made. The first time i just played the game but this time its an opening that is prejudice against me and i do not wish to play it, how do i get out of this game without accrediting a loss to my name or losing points? I was unaware that moves could be made for me before i even start a game. How do I make sure that this does not happen again when I accept a game?
