Paragraph breaks not working in blog

When I am editing a blog post, hitting ENTER begins a new paragraph. In the editor it looks like the next line starts about 1.5 lines below the previous (just like in this forum entry). But sometimes after I insert a board to play through moves, the rest of the entry I am typing doesn't allow any paragraph breaks.  Hitting ENTER no longer brings the cursor down about 1.5 lines in the editor to start a new paragraph. It brings it down one line and just gives a line break. Hitting enter twice brings it down 2 lines in the editor, but when I save and view, there are no paragraph breaks in the post. In other words, inserting the game board (sometimes) takes away my ability from creating paragraph breaks after that point on.  Any thoughts on this issue?
