Unless you want wolverines to make there way into chess, you should specify that the pawn must promote to a Queen, Rook, Bishop, or Knight of the same color.
I hope everyone knows that when you promote a pawn if the piece you are promoting to isnt available you may stop the clock until you get one or one is provided ? Many players seem unaware of this. I have seen players use a rook turned upside down to represent a queen before and I think thats not allowed by the rules anymore. Was it ever ?
