It has happened more than once in my games and both times it happened my fingers were away from the screen, I was thinking about moving the piece to a good square and it automatically jumps to a bad square and dies there, I think either the pieces become suicidal and do such things or perhaps my opponent had telekinetic powers , any ways its a bad phenomena

This just happened to me when I was playing as a guest. I just made this account to comment this. Everything was fine until my queen randomly moved. I pulled my hands away in shock, not knowing what had happened. Then, somehow, I resigned. A warning usually pops up when you click the button, so it couldn’t have been a misclick. I rematched my opponent in pure disbelief, and they accepted. I just watched as the pieces moved on their own as if it was a normal game. They weren’t completely random, since they played an opening, but it was too fast to be a normal chess bot. But after my possessed device decided to blunder my queen, my opponent started having connection issues. My guess is that it is some kind of hack that I don’t know of.

Exactly what happened to me but I was not logged into my account, just using guest one. When I clicked play it was half through the game and my pieces are moving on its own battling another guest and I am watching them play on my phone. I even make moves while they are battling, it is so weird.

Yes , people will continue making fun of others tragedy until it hits them too, just wait until one of your winning games auto resigns or one of your pieces make a suicide then u will realize the gravity of situation

This happened me today and it also happened to me a few weeks ago. In both instances I have video proof of nobody touching my laptop but the pieces moving by themselves. Has the site been hacked?

Avatar of Ky4812

yeah this happens t me sometimes in blitz. Ill be just thinking and my queen will just be blundered

Avatar of jjbinx

Would the devs like video proof of this happening?

This reminds me of the Teamviewer hack where users reported the mouse pointer moving by itself.

I’ve just had the same issue when playing as guest. It was just 1 piece that moved which spooked me, then later I went to resign and it started playing on my behalf, blitzing out moves I clicked screen record showing it making moves while the resign option is up and now want to report it.

Well now I think I finally understand how en passant is a forced move.

I left the browser after a game and back after 10 mins or so.. it is playing by itself . Not just one move the whole game. both sides it played.. i am worried.. somebody took over my computer screen remotely..?

When playing as a guest recently  my pieces moved themselves

Just went through the same issue. Here is my video proof: no premove, no premade game, guest account. Ignore the dark room and my hand waving everywhere, just trying to show that I'm not touching the mouse. https://youtu.be/uM_p4mmw6Wk

It happened to me 3 times. The first two times I just figured maybe I made a mistake. But now I’m convinced something else happens.

Happened to me a few minutes ago.
The board suddenly plays long castle by itself. No pre-moves.
My cursor was on the queen, halfway the board. Very strange.
Did cost me the game.

It's because, two devices are used with same login, and someone on second device is also playing

I just had this too. Opponent was trying to check mate me but I defended it well and was now close to putting him in mate and he had no chance to win anymore then all of a sudden on my next move one of my knights moved on its own to a square he could capture for free that was a completely pointless move. It 100% was not me who did it accidentally or otherwise and I didn't have premoves enabled. I told him in chat he was cheating and moved my piece and he said "of course" so I said I reported him and it didn't happen again after that.

Is this a new hack? I'm sure this happened to me before too but I just brushed it off as an accident the first time. It's just convenient it happened right when I stopped him from checkmating and then the knight move opened the position back up for him and gave him a free piece.
