There are ways to prevent this type of flooding, I'm no expert but I'm sure it cant be terribly difficult to implement.

Roop; Technology evolves, and so do hackers. Like you, I'm no expert, but I think it has something to do with the servers. You spend say, $100,000. and 2 weeks later, its obsolete. Didn't Erik use to do like a 10 min TV spot every week yrs ago?? Just to stay informed with the forums, announcements, major issues, etc.

I think it should be easy to prevent any/everybody to start more than one thread per hour.
Only trolls/spammers require more than that.

Kohai mentioned once about the patterns. It has to do with money, and holidays, and time, like nights and weekends. The members start legitimate threads for feedback reasons. These people hack into the servers somehow.

There should be a filter which should automatically delete/hold (untill Mod approve) those OP threads which have a phone number...
